Sorry for the radio silence these past few days. I owe many people emails and I need to get back to regular posting before post ideas slip through my fingers. And it’s the last day of Black History Month! We should throw a party or something. I did want to get [...]
There will be content here soon, I promise. Today NY Comicon gets going and I’ll provide a full report of my activities and the panels I’m attending. Should be good for a laugh. In the meantime, I’m going to provide you all with something to giggle over.
That picture was taken yesterday, btw.
Once [...]
Claire Light is one of the organizers of this event and wanted me to pass on the info. Sounds like an amazing reading and it’s definitely for a good cause.
A fundraiser reading to benefit the Octavia E. Butler Memorial Scholarship. Fabulous fabulists honor one of our great writers and raise funds for the [...]
I’m in the midst of trying to get a ton of work done before New York Comicon this weekend, so blogging will be light. However, if you’re coming to the con or will be in NYC this weekend, drop me a note in the comments. It could be fun to hook up!

I’m in the process of collecting more information for some other OurStory posts. I want to get stories on the Larkin family from a cousin and also do the interviews about my mom. Next week for sure there will be posts about my maternal grandmother Anna Ree and her mother Katie Bell. [...]
Several months ago I happened to hear author James T. Campbell on a local NPR show talking about his book Middle Passages: African American Journeys to Africa, 1787-2005. Impressed by the interview, I ran out and bought the book. (In hardcover, for $30!) It’s very well-written, very intriguing, and very thought-provoking. [...]
When I moved into my current apartment I inherited a cat – Midget. She’s a cranky, feisty, attention seeking ho. I love her to death. My roommate and I enjoy taking pictures of Midget being particularly cute.

There, I have cat blogged. Happy?
I was very pleased to see my blog on top of the list of ‘Fastest Growing Blogs’ on this site. I was also pleased to see it listed (at one time) as the #2 top WordPress.com blog and to find my post on Tucker Carlson and Barack Obama’s church at the top of the [...]
