Given the economic situation he inherited, I doubt there were many progressives, who thought you were entering a period of instant peace, prosperity. However, given the way this White House has gone out of its way to insult progressives – a bazarre way to treat a significant section of your base – they should not be surprised if the response next time is “you’ll get our vote, but if you want more than that you can go f**k yourself”.

Obama is probably the best and certainly the most intelligent president in my half century on the planet. I just hope more disaffected progressives, who unrealistically thought we were entering a period of instant peace, prosperity, and utopia, will get a back bone and fight back. There is a racist backlash of historic proportions happening right now. Its hidden behind denial but we all know its there. If we don’t fight back, history will look at this period as opportunity lost or squashed. Glad to see the NAACP awoke from its long slumber to call it out.

oh trust me, only blacks and the same fringe base that never abandoned Bush will vote for the loser that is Barry. This guy was an affimative action pres and the rest of the contry is paying the price.

Watching from abroad, it seems to me people were hoping Obama would be another FDR. Instead, you appear to have got another Herbert Hoover. And I’m really disappointed you put ‘ultra-left’ in front of ‘progressive’ since, as we all know, that’s code for “a fringe far outside the mainstream”. Again, from over here general disatisfaction with Obama looks more mainstream than fringe. Last time most people voted for him with genuine enthusiasm for the man and what they thought he represented. Next time it will be because he is the least worst candidate.
