For the first time in over 20 years, I am excited to vote.

And this may seem silly, but I am even more excited at a the prospect of a First Family that I would want my own family to emulate.

For me, it was also that he's by far the most "presidential" candidate the party has fielded since Clinton or maybe even Kennedy (and I must say I think the Clintons made up for a lot of crap this week). He completely kicked ass. I cannot WAIT for the debates. He is going to mop up the floor with McCain.

Yeah, I've never been too enthusiastic about elections, but last night I found myself tearing up watching the convention. There was such amazing diversity in the crowd and seeing so many people waving flags and feeling included, feeling represented. It was really something. God, I hope he wins....

There was so much to like about last night.

The audience in particular -- it looked authentically what it was, multi-cultural. Not like you so often can't help but see, that the various not default members are carefully noticed and focused on. This audience was what this nation is. They worked very hard to be there in that stadium.

The fireworks were a terrific television moment.

Love, C.

I most definitely agree. Last night was a moment to behold because a lot of folks thought they would never see it in their lifetime. It made me proud that despite all our struggles as Black folk, that Obama created a bellwhether moment that will never be forgotten in the tenets of time.

I am a political junkie. I love entertaining the little nuances of each move that is made and its larger implications in society. But, last night, I put all of that aside, just listened and stayed within the moment.

I was filled with not only a sense of awe, but with dignity. That especially put tears in my eyes.

Take care,
