Looking forward to the post (yes, I know you’ve probably published it by now, but I’m days behind on my RSS feed).

However, you are part of the rudeness-resistance movement, the trolling-rejection movement, and the asshole-calling-out movement.

And by “part of” here I mean “indispensable to,” of course.

I know, right! Another thing they seem not to have groked is that I’m not actually part of the fat acceptance movement. I guess they assume that anyone upset about this must be. As if “other” people would just shrug their shoulders and not care. Or as if people who aren’t in that movement or have “normal” bodies (according to their narrow and simple-minded definition of such) look on “fat” people with as much disgust and disdain as they do.

whoops!

Nevermind that non-bigoted assholes generally don’t have disdain for people just because of what they look like.

I haven’t been here very long so this may not be the best observation but from the little I’ve seen I think the reason you haven’t gotten too many trolls is for two reasons:

1. Actual discussion – Lots of blogs claim to be “thought provoking”, “insightful”, and all that but most are nothing more than looking for a choir to preach to.

2. Reaction to disagreemnt – This is a big one and I have experienced it first hand here. From what I’ve seen here when someone disagrees you don’t just bombard them with personal attacks unless the “disagreement” was merely a personal attack. (By all means if it was then fire away.) You (and the regulars here) instead break down the statement and show why it is wrong like you folks did to me back in the Catcalling thread.

But thats just my opinion mind you.
