So powerful. Thanks so much for this essay. I really hadn't thought about that experience in quite this way before, but every time I see a strong or powerful woman do something I didn't know was "allowed," it opens my mind a little bit, and makes me feel so much braver and more meaningful -- so I think I know what you mean. Thank God for that friend of your parents!! (And I'm very glad to have met you and attended your WFC reading, too. ;) ) Wow. So powerful. Thanks so much for this essay.
