Introducing…

I’m about to disappear for a week and a half. At least this time I warned you all, right?

Tomorrow I am off to a meditation retreat in the Massachusetts wilderness. 11 days of no talking, meditating for 9 hours a day, no eating after 3pm, and only vegetarian food. This may not sound like a lot of fun — and it isn’t — but it’s a very useful and enlightening experience.

Since my absence is planned this time, I thought it would be good to invite a guest blogger. I’d like to introduce N. K. Jemisin.

The first time I met NK was at WisCon. She and I both have curly hair, though hers is shorter. She asked me if I wanted to take a bet on which one of use would be mistaken for the other first. I told her I’d already been asked if I was Nalo Hopkinson (I’m not kidding) so neither of us was safe. Now that NK lives near me we often meet up to write or hang or make fun of white people. (Okay, we don’t really do that.) She’s a great writer, articulate AND clean, and smarter than me.

I shall return around May 1st or so. I also have a few posts set to go live in my absence. Feel free to comment and discuss as you normally would. Just be aware that I can’t comment until I return. NK will keep an eye on the discussions, spammers, and rout out overprivileged jerks.

See you in May!

    Angry,
I cant believe you are on what sounds like the least fun vacation in history when I found your site. ;-)
I certainly have some issues with some of your views but I respect them.
I hope we can have some productive conversations.
