OurStory Carnival call for submissions
Things happen fast on the Internets, kids. In my Black History Month post last week I said that I wanted to make this month useful again by having folks bring up history and people that are ignored or forgotten. Included in that was wanting to hear folks family history as well. Kevin on SlantTruth said he loved this idea, and not just for black folks, but for all marginalized groups and histories. He suggested we have a carnival. In this way, discussion of history and the importance of Our contributions won’t be limited to one month a year (whichever month it is for you).
The first OurStory Carnival will be held at Taking Place. You can find the details there. Deadline is Feb. 22. If you’re going to do the Black History thing, be sure to submit to them as well as telling me!
